1 · What the AI Assistant is
A smart helper that lives inside your own Google Sheet — no extra software, no copy-pasting into another tool.
It can read your sheet, explain any cell, write and fix formulas, fill in realistic data, build infographics, summarize your data, translate your whole workbook, and read a photo and act on it. You ask in plain language (any language) and it does the work right in the sheet. Your data never leaves your Google account.

3 · A tour of the panel
Three tabs at the top: Assistant, Tools, Settings.
Assistant tab
Your chat with the AI plus the most-used buttons — Fill, Fill Tables, Scan document, and quick actions. Type a request at the bottom and hit Send Command.
Tools tab
Extras like Smart Styling (theme, fonts, colours, Magic Format Fixer) and data tools.
Settings tab
Your plan & license key (Activate Pro), Check for Updates, and Import from an old version.

Scan document
Reads every sheet and cell and builds a map (sheets, columns, formulas, dropdowns) so the AI understands your whole file. The map is saved, so it stays known even after you close the panel.
Fill
Put your cursor anywhere in a data table and click; the AI adds a fresh entry. If the row is empty it fills it; if it already has data, a new blank row is inserted above and filled. Ignores headers/titles/KPIs.
Fill Tables
Adds 2 fresh sample rows to each table in the workbook with realistic data. Rows that already have data are skipped; shows progress and a summary of what was filled.
Translate
Translates every label & header across the whole workbook to a language you choose, with one shared dictionary so cross-sheet totals (SUMIF) keep working. Originals are backed up — press ↩︎ Undo anytime. Numbers and your data are never touched.
Infographic
Turns this sheet's data into a shareable poster (KPI cards + donut + bars) in a style you pick. Preview it, then download the image.
Undo
Reverts the last change the assistant made (translate, fill, AI edit). Script edits don't go into Google's Ctrl+Z, so this is how you undo them.
Wide
Opens the assistant in a larger, resizable window so you have more room to read and type.
Clear
Wipes the current chat history and starts a fresh conversation.
Attach
Add a screenshot or image, then type your own question about it.
Send Command
Sends your typed request to the AI without touching your formulas.
Analyze All My Data
Re-scans every sheet and all your data across every year, then builds a complete report (summary, insights and breakdowns) on a new sheet.
Auto-Fit Columns
Resizes every column to fit its content, with comfortable padding.
Activate Pro
Validates your license key and unlocks all Pro features.
Log out of account
Removes the saved license key from this sheet — use this to switch accounts or stop using Pro here.
Import data from old version
Copies every data row from your old sheet into this new version, matching columns by header name. Formula columns recalculate; nothing is deleted.

5 · Filling rows & tables
Two ways to add realistic sample data — one row at a time, or the whole workbook at once.
Fill (single entry)
Click any cell inside a data table and press Fill. The AI reads your columns, infers the right data types, and adds one realistic row — inserting above if that row is occupied.
Fill Tables (whole workbook)
One click seeds every table in the file with 2 sample rows. Already-populated rows are never overwritten; a progress summary appears when it's done.
6 · Scan, Analyze & Translate
Give the AI full context about your workbook — or let it produce a report or a translated copy.
Scan document
Builds a persistent map of every sheet, column, formula, and dropdown. Run it once after setup; the AI will reference this map in every chat that follows.
Analyze All My Data
Goes deeper than Scan — reads all your actual values across every year and writes a new sheet with a full summary, key insights, and breakdowns.
Translate
Converts all labels and headers to a target language while preserving formulas, numbers, and cross-sheet references. Undo restores the originals instantly.
7 · Quick actions
Utility buttons that help you work faster or recover from mistakes.
Undo
Rolls back the last assistant action. Because Apps Script edits bypass Google's Ctrl+Z history, this is the only reliable undo for AI-made changes.
Attach image
Upload a screenshot, photo, or chart image and ask the AI a question about it — useful for reading a receipt and logging the items.
Wide mode
Pops the panel into a larger floating window — handy for long responses or detailed conversations.
Clear chat
Resets the conversation to a blank slate without affecting your sheet data.
Auto-Fit Columns
One click makes every column just wide enough for its content, with comfortable padding — no manual dragging.
8 · Smart styling
Restyle your workbook in seconds from the Tools tab.
Magic Format Fixer
Applies your chosen theme, accent colour, zebra striping, frozen header, and currency format to the entire workbook at once. Adjust the options above the button, then click to apply.
Font size ( − / + )
Use the − and + buttons to nudge the base font size down or up by 1 point at a time.
9 · Pro & account
Unlock the full feature set with a Pro license.
Activate Pro
Enter your license key in the Settings tab and click Activate Pro — the key is validated instantly and all Pro features unlock in this sheet.
Log out of account
Removes the stored license key from this sheet. Use it to switch accounts or transfer the license to a different copy.
Import data from old version
Brings all your data rows from a previous sheet into this one, matching columns by header name — formula columns recalculate automatically and nothing is deleted.
